Oh, my. I'm sure this was perfectly acceptable back in the war years but it's a bit tough to look at now. I love the dramatic lighting on The Shadow but not so much the superior pose as he pulls an apparently dismembered head from a vat of blood. Yikes! Won't even go into the representation of the Japanese, just to say it was typical of the times.
