Revisiting "The Shadow Now"

I'm not sure how everyone else felt about this series but I really wanted to like it.  The flow never worked for me and I think it's because it relied too much on its reference sources.  It needed more 'punch' to it.  I'm going to give it another read and see if I can appreciate it better now.  I really like Colton's artwork but maybe not as much here, in a storytelling format like comics.  He paints really well and I'd like to see him try a period piece one-shot.

Sanitarium patients are mysteriously dying and being drained of their blood. Lamont Cranston and Margot Lane are summoned by the head doctor and arrive to find him murdered.

"Traffic in Death" is the first adventure featuring Bill Johnstone as The Shadow/Lamont Cranston and Agnes Moorehead as Margot Lane.  Mr. Johnstone played the role for the next six seasons.

What I'm reading now

 After finishing "The Big Sleep" I am finally returning to The Shadow.  This tale seems appropriate for the times we are living at the moment with the upcoming battle to fill Justice Bader's vacant seat and an ugly battle for the presidency of our nation.  Not to mention here in the state I live we have a contentious fight for a Senate seat and our Governorship.  I was never political and still feel that I'm not, but with the state of our country where everything, even a global pandemic, is filtered politically it seems that we are all tied up with politics.  I'm hoping this tale shows us how common sense and a universal right win out.

 Professor X marks the last episode starring Orson Welles.  I am listening to it as I type since this is new to me.  I have really enjoyed Welles' take on the character but there are still some great tales to come with Bill Johnstone taking over the role the following week which marks the beginning of the second season.

Listed as "The Witch Drums of Salem" I chose to go with the title the announcer gave, "The Witch Drums".  Enjoy this episode, the second to last Orson Welles adventure, on this most solemn of days in our country.

I am beyond excited for this

I love the books and just recently finished my umpteenth rereading of the classic novel.  I've seen the 84 film many times just because I want to have something of Dune to visually appreciate.  Now I can immerse myself in the trailer for a couple of months (probably longer) and dream of the world of Arrakis and Sandworms and an uprising of the natives to reclaim their birthright.  So, so excited.
