 This cover seems to be illustrating the second story, "Murder on Set 13".  However, you can't go wrong with a pulp carrying a tale titled "Deep Shadow".

ON THE AIR: January 4, 1948

 Classic episode to start 1948 off with.  Margot intentionally puts herself in the line of fire to bring down two seemingly harmless senior citizens.  Harmless?  Murderous is more like it.  Throw in an unscrupulous mortician and you have a case for... The Shadow!  If you are wanting to feel the cold hand of death grip your shoulder then tune into "The Chill of Death"!

 Classic cover from October of 1933.  Simple and elegant.  This issue probably flew off of the shelves, regardless of whether the story was any good.
