Fun cover, this one.  I love the silhouette in red over the green map.  And this time there is a shadow over the Shadow's "shadow".  I haven't read this one, yet.  But, according to this review (which has a spoiler included) it looks to be a fun read.  If you haven't read this tale, check out the review here.

The Third Shadow

     A pretty nice cover even if it means The Shadow's costume is easily duplicated and, apparently, well known.  As agent T states, it would have been nice had one of the two figures been The Shadow himself.  I've read this one and really enjoyed it.  If you haven't, then check out this review.

Cool cover although I agree with Agent T, the purple tint to the costume (uniform?) is off putting.  Although it would've been great that The Shadow is hanging onto his autogyro, it turns out this is just a pontoon plane according to this review.  I look forward to reading this one, as I have read only one of Tinsley's tales.

The Cobra

Very cool cover that probably wouldn't have happened if the title had remained "The Shadow's Foil".  I have read this one (thanks to the Sanctum Reprints) and thoroughly enjoyed it even if it were a bit obvious as to the ultimate outcome.  Still, a fun ride and definitely worth the time to read.

Death's Harlequin

Bleh.  Could've and should've.  This tale was adapted into the comic series "The Shadow Strikes", my personal favorite of the comics of The Dark Eagle.  I don't mind the composition of this although it is a bit heavy on the left side of the image.  It's the execution that bothers me and it just seems weak.  This is a story by Theodore Tinsley so it is a bit more violent and lurid than those of Gibson, but tame by today's standards, I'm sure.

Gems of Doom

Classic Graves Gladney cover for an average adventure of The Shadow.  I haven't read it yet but I trust Mr. Olsen's reviews and he thinks this is worth a read but it isn't anything special.  However, that shouldn't stop anyone from checking this one out since The Shadow Magazine had so many truly special tales that average for our hero would rank high on most pulp character's lists.
