Saturday's random pulp cover: The Mysterious Wu Fang "The Case of the Hidden Scourge": March, 1936
Ah, Shiwan...er, Wu Fang is menacing yet another fetching female while her rescuer appears to be just a tad too late. On a serious note, I really love the use of the red bounce light striking the background figures. Very nice.

Saturday's random pulp cover: The Mysterious Wu Fang "The Case of the Scarlet Feather": October, 1935
At Pulpfest this year the idea was proposed that all of the Fu Manchu knock-offs were the same character, including Shiwan Khan. Maybe, but I prefer to think Khan was written better than these cardboard villain titles.

Saturday's random pulp cover: Doc Savage Science Detective "The Pure Evil": March - April, 1948
A cover by Edd Cartier (bringing some of that Shadow art goodness to the sister magazine) that really doesn't scream Doc Savage. I'm guessing this is illustrating the novel "Revolt" rather than "The Pure Evil". The times, they sure were a-changin'.

The Sunday Comics: The Shadow Comics: January 1942
Let's start another round of classic comics from the days of yore. Giant ants and blue tinted heroes. What else does one want from one thin dime?!

Saturday's random pulp cover: Doc Savage "The Evil Gnome": April, 1940
Why did I pick this so-so cover? Because I wondered if The Shadow had already beaten him to the top using his suction cups rather than his finger tips.

Pulpfest 2025
Our table before we put out our product. The Shadowed Circle did better this year than last and I sold the cover art for The Shadowed Circle #8 to a collector. Plus, we have some BIG news. We secured Shadowcon for next year. That's right, Tim King and I will be organizing and hosting the convention within the convention. I'll be posting updates as information becomes available.
Some of the cards I was doing while I sat on my arse at the table. Sold a couple, gave a few away. All about networking...
I did this quick little sketch for a gentleman from Edgar Rice Burroughs publishing. Hope abounds.

Saturday's random pulp cover: Spicy Stories : December - January, 1933
Some cheesecake for your summer Saturday. Nicely done illustration even if it really illustrates nothing more than male fantasy.
