A gripe about Margo

This has to do with the radio Shadow.  It's become much more apparent and annoying as I binge listen to the radio program.  Has anyone wondered why The Shadow allows Margo Lane to often speak to him saying the name of Lamont with the criminal in the room?  Was this just something the writers thought was funny?  Over the years I thought it was just an occasional oversight but it happens over and over.  I just want to reach through the speakers and throttle that little ditz.
