Aha! THE DARK DEATH...That orange/red square of curtain wasn't enough to go by, since it could've been The Shadow's cape on ANY NUMBER OF COVERS and would've involved blasting my eyesight, perhaps permanently...But I know the Dark Death machine when I see [part of] it! Always liked this cover for its bizarreness, The Shadow's rather creepy face peering in, and the elephant table, which was criminally obscured by way-too-dark printing on the Sanctum reprint! [I wrote Tony and said I thought his reprint cover 'died the Dark Death'; he probably wasn't pleased as he didn't reply...] This was one of the first Shadow pulps I owned; purchased it from Mike Ingalls! If Tony ever reprints it I hope he adjusts the darkness level.
