I'm sorry for posting these so late.  This move really threw everything into chaos and I just lost track of some things.  Gonna get all four at once, it seems.  Hey, it's still October so I'm kind of in the ballpark.

ON THE AIR October 30, 1938

Another great early episode.  Sit back and enjoy The Isle of Fear like millions of fans did 82 years ago.

Who said it?

"I thought you might be bored if you died alone. So I brought along a few of your friends to keep you company on your trip to hell!"

As always, which tale did this come from and which character said it.

My daily computer screen

I've probably posted this before but that's the way it goes.  I love the idea of Doc Savage and his very simplistic code resonates with me, I only wish I enjoyed his stories more.  Regarding the code, I think the country could function a whole lot better if we adhered to the spirit it imparts.  But since so many don't that is why The Shadow is needed...

What I'm reading now

About a third of the way through this one.  Dr. Roy Tam has been introduced and I'm having some trouble reconciling the original pulp character with the one from the 1994 film.  I didn't realize that Dr. Tam was an activist for his people.  So far a pretty fun read.  Looking forward to how this one plays out.  Chinatown!  Chinese mysticism! The Shadow!  What more could one want?  Check out this review if you want a preview.

ON THE AIR October 23,1938

What a great title... Gun Island!  I've listened to this many times and, whether it's a favorite or not, it's great hearing Johnstone in the early episodes finding his "voice" as The Shadow.  I hope that you take a half hour and relax in front of your speakers, turn off the monitor and just let the sonorous tones of the opening wash over you and transport your mind to a simpler time.

The Shadow trailer

Check out the trailer for the classic 1994 film... The Shadow.

"I was just so afraid!  It's so nice of you big, strong men to protect me!"

I've been moving...

...which is why my posts have been either nonexistent or, like today, in a bunch.  I'm just catching up and should be back on schedule now.  Thank you for your patience.

ON THE AIR October 16, 1938

A little late but I hope that doesn't take away the enjoyment of this classic radio program featuring Bill Johnstone as... The Shadow.

The Shadow said it

"You'll need that heater, Sparrow. So lug it along, but don't try to use it. Call me Clink, but don't forget who I am. Remember, if I start shooting -- you'll get the first dose!"
