This one does nothing for me...

...and this one only slightly more so.  If the publisher had allowed the art to break into the paperback's logo as the pulp did it would help immensely.  As it stands the cover is just a lot of brown with nothing of real interest.  Even the pose feels recycled.

Gonna say that neither of these are favorites of mine but I'll give the edge to the paperback cover art.  At least it didn't look like it had been a modified cover of an average cover like the pulp version did.
 

On a different note, apologies for not having the right title in last week's post.  I have since rectified the problem.

And so begins a new old adventure from the early days of The Shadow in comics.  Anyone know where this cover was originally used?

 

Avenger Saturday presents: "The Glass Mountain" paperback

 Very Bama-esque.  Doc Savage really changed the adventure paperback world in much the same way that Frank Frazetta changed the sci-fi/fantasy market.  However, this just doesn't hold a candle to the pulp cover.

Well, I know I said I wouldn't be posting the non American recordings.  However, we are getting to the point where there are not as many episodes remaining.  Soon we will be missing entire seasons.  So, even though I don't like these versions that much, sit back and listen to another variation of our favorite mystery man.  Listen to "Spotlight on the Duchess".

... we were introduced to the world of Bond, James Bond.  Hard to believe that only 22 years separate the first appearance (in print) of The Shadow and 007.  The world had changed so much so fast.

 Buy it.  Now!  The latest book on The Shadow by Will Murray only stoked the flames of fandom I have for this character.  The timelines he breaks down and the behind the scenes issues he brings to light are just fascinating reading.  I loved this book and I hope anyone reading this will find a way (I chose Amazon) to purchase a copy.  Or one for a friend who may be on the fence about getting pulled into the original Dark Web... the dark web woven by Walter B. Gibson!

 This cover shares a similar color scheme as the original.  Not sure which one I like more.  The pulp has more action but the paperback actually features the hero.

Re: The Shadow Coloring Book

 I mis-numbered early in the run and that is why the run ended at 64 when I said 66 parts.  I hope no one is waiting for the final two since they don't exist.  The 66th page is simply the cover reprinted.  So here you go...
