Revisiting "The Shadow Now"

I'm not sure how everyone else felt about this series but I really wanted to like it.  The flow never worked for me and I think it's because it relied too much on its reference sources.  It needed more 'punch' to it.  I'm going to give it another read and see if I can appreciate it better now.  I really like Colton's artwork but maybe not as much here, in a storytelling format like comics.  He paints really well and I'd like to see him try a period piece one-shot.
