THE YELLOW BAND. They may have thought the fake band across the cover (a real paper band was was the occasional custom for some 'slicks' of the time) was a clever idea, but faux anything (like the 'leather' on one of the SHADOW ANNUALs) just accentuates the cheapness of the pretender. Story was OK; the second Kent Allard story...
