A fun cover by Graves Gladney. I really love the color palette of this illustration and the rendering of the frightened figure in the foreground. As someone who really likes the "hands" covers that were a prominent concept for The Shadow Magazine, I am unimpressed with the rendering of The Shadow's gloved (I hope) hands on this cover.
This particular novel is by Theodore Tinsley. The Prince of Evil is the first of a four issue story arc that published between April 15, 1940 and November 15 of that same year.
