I really love the little spot illustrations of the various hands. These touches really draw me, as a reader and fan, into the story and make the drama that much more palpable. I've always been a bit confused by the mixture of art within one story. Whereas Edd Cartier was the illustrator of the main images, the drawings of the individual characters are obviously by another, perhaps even more than one other artist. Then there is the cutaway illustration of the building. Very popular, it seems, with the pulps. My wife loves maps and that is what I consider these to be.
