I sure hope he has the ability to cloud men's minds 'cause he ain't exactly gonna blend into the Russian snowscape!

The Shadow #18 by Jason
Solid comic cover making use of the panel layout that defines comic books. I do miss the billowing cloak with the crimson lining versus the overcoat and excessively long scarf.

The Shadow #16 by JSA
Not my favorite. He looks...ordinary. And the fedora, nope. I like the composition, just not the portrait aspect. It reminds me of this classic splash page from Detective Comics #457.

The Shadow #15 by Jason Shawn Alexander
Part of "The Light" story arc. I like the cover but it doesn't feel Shadow-ish to me. Nice art, as usual for Mr. Alexander.

Jason Shawn Alexander does The Shadow #14
A bit fan of JSA's work. This cover really is cool. Not loving his less than slouch hat but that's a quibble I learned I was going to lose with many illustrators interpretations. I'll be posting his other covers next week.

Jason Shawn Alexander #19
The last in the series by JSA. I really like the pose and, if it had to be used, the design composition of the red scarf.

Jason Shawn Alexander #18
Needs a sable hued cloak rather than just a trenchcoat. And a wider brimmed hat. And lose the scarf. Nicely rendered cover, just not sure how much it does for me from the viewpoint of a cover for The Shadow.

Jason Shawn Alexander #16
I like a lot about this cover but have a complaint about the nose and the hat. The brim is not large enough and the nose is not the "aquiline" enough. Of course, I'm not a fan of the red scarf. Alas, it is so nicely done that I just have to give it a thumbs up regardless of my qualms.

Jason Shawn Alexander #15
While not as classically inclined as Alex Ross' covers are, I think the covers (or just style) of Jason's are very intriguing. What do you think?

Jason Shawn Alexander #14
Another comic artist/illustrator whose work I really enjoy. Happy to have seen him do a few covers for The Shadow. A lot of Kent Williams influence in his work.
