Saturday's random pulp cover: The Spider "Serpent of Destruction"

I wonder how many casual pulp readers were confused as to whether this is The Shadow or The Spider.   A bit more suggestive than a cover for The Shadow but still, the pale hand with a red ring and a black cloak?
