This tale (Trail of Vengeance) is from 1942 and had been influenced by the radio program. Why do I bring this up? The "invisible force" description married up to an image of The Shadow seemed a little odd to me. He's obviously not invisible or even very well hidden in the darkness. That's not to take away from the really fun action and rendering involved in this illustration. Wish I had a larger version of this Paul Orban drawing to share with you but we'll have to settle for this.
