 Not my favorite of his covers but it felt like a respectful nod to the original from 1932.  This could have benefited from a black or dark blue fade at the top of the image to give it more focus and importance.  They get better...

Avenger Saturday presents: "House of Death"

 A better illustration than the previous issue but still not as cool as the first 13.  I do, however, want to know just what that skull-faced apparition is all about behind the violent action in the foreground.

ON THE AIR: March 1, 1942

 I love the opening to this episode.  It calls back to when The Shadow was just a narrator.  So sit back and listen to this tale of a young ne'er do well who gambles Daddy's money and eventually bets on his father's life.

 Let's wind down the pulps with the James Steranko covers for Pyramid and then H B Jove.  The top one is obviously an homage to George Rozen's "Black Hush" cover.  The bottom image seems to be a call back to the Modest Stein recycled painting for the very first issue of The Shadow.

 There are a number of covers that could have inspired this wretched illustration.  Without reading this it feels like when James Bond joined the Star Wars movement with Moonraker.
