 Looks like this could be The Shadow from 1963's "Return of The Shadow".  Total nose job!

The Creeper gets his moniker from his stealthy footsteps.  Huh?  I guess you'll just have to read how that works into this story.  Don't for a moment confuse this adventure with either of the radio versions that share the title.  This is an exciting mystery from 1935, a fine year indeed.  And, hey, it has a 'hands' cover with clews written right on it.  What more can a Shadowphile wish for?!

Not a lot of it out there but I think he does a pretty sweet job of portraying The Shadow.  Just wish the scarf would leave the mythos...
 

"The Man From Scotland Yard"

I love this cover.  Great action shot of The Shadow with three goons converging on him.  The lead crook is absolutely pug ugly and just screams "I ain't no good!".  Yep, the atmosphere is terrific and the scene is crackling with intensity.  Hey, the story is pretty great as well.  The man referred to in the title is none other than... wait, if you haven't read it I don't want to spoil it.  Give it a read, if only for the great cover art.

 I know super science was fascinating to the public, hence Doc Savage's popularity, but I'd rather have the original title on this, The Shadow's Quest.  This is a top drawer adventure either way and if you haven't read it then saunter over to your bookshelf and find Double Novel Reprint #44 and have an armchair adventure this weekend.
