"An insignificant silver French two-franc piece was worth many lives - so many that The Shadow stepped in to pierce the murderous secret of the Death Token." - The Shadow in Review
I know that putting "Death" into the title is very pulpy but I kind of like the original title the Gibson submitted, "The Head of Apollo". Feels a bit more classy. But the novel itself is just an average 1930s adventure (not a bad thing at all) and doesn't stand out and become a classic. All in all a good, solid tale that any fan will enjoy reading. Hey, it's The Shadow after all!
