The Sunday Comics: The Shadow "The Menace of Radiation Rogue!"

Alright, fellow gluttons for punishment.  We are starting the downhill portion of this series.  Only 4 issues of the 8 are left and I am going to push through... just for you.

Saturday's random pulp cover: Doc Savage Magazine : "The Black Spot"_July, 1935

What can one say about this truly heroic cover.  Doc at his best.  I find it interesting that he is doing his he-man hero bit and at the bottom of the cover there is a tag for "Doc Savage Exercises" that will be published inside.  What preteen boy wouldn't rip this from the newsstand and race home to see if he could one day be that cover hero.

Saturday's random pulp cover: Doc Savage Magazine : "The Secret in the Sky"_May, 1935

I never get enough of Baumhofer's cover art.  He makes Doc look and feel believable.  As great as the photo-realistic work of Bama is, his Doc just looks unreal.  The guy on this cover is that adventure hero who will go past his limits to get the job done!

Saturday's random pulp cover: Doc Savage Magazine : "The Thousand Headed Man"_July, 1934

Cool cover by the fantastic Walter Baumhofer.  I see Charlie Chan and Lamont Cranston over Doc's right shoulder.  And what is up with that evil little hand reaching for Clark's face?  You must read it to find out.  Well done, Walter B., your cover just did what it was supposed to do, even 92 years later!
