Yeah, after "Murder Town" I'm attacking another "Clive Cussler" novel. I'm not sure how much Clive has to do with these posthumous stories, but as long as these characters exist I'll keep collecting them and reading them.

What I'm reading now
Taking a break from The Shadow to indulge in the latest "Clive Cussler" adventure. Why parenthesis? Clive died earlier this year and his books have been ghost written for quite some time now so I don't know how much Cussler there really is in these latest tales. Still, I enjoy these characters and it seems that the various series have been left in good hands. Not sure how much longer they will be coming out but I will always pick up the latest and lose myself in a pretty good adventure yarn where the hero always comes out on the winning end.

What I hope to be reading next
Barnes & Noble hasn't yet gotten their copies of the newest Cussler book (I'm loyal to the local shops) but I hope that I will be reading this tale by the weekend. If not, then it'll be "The Yellow Hoard", the second adventure of The Avenger.

Next on my reading list...
Journey of the Pharaohs. Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala take another journey into adventure as written by the master of adventure, Clive Cussler. I'm not sure how many more novels will actually have Mr. Cussler's involvement but I eagerly look forward to them as long as they keep puttin' them out. Clive created a wonderful universe of characters that always feels like a family reunion. I'm gonna enjoy this and rest that Clive worked on before he passed on.

RIP Clive Cussler
Clive Cussler passed away at the age of 88 on Monday, February 24th. His wife, Janet Horvath, gave the world the sad news with this statement.
"It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news that my husband Clive passed away Mon. It has been a privilege to share in his life. I want to thank you his fans & friends for all the support. He was the kindest most gentle man I ever met.I know, his adventures will continue."
Cussler's books, especially his earlier work, have been some of my favorites and I always looked forward to reading another adventure (or four) every year. "Raise the Titanic" hooked me and I've been a devotee ever since. I know his characters will continue on as he has been using co-authors for many years now and turned the Dirk Pitt series over to his son, Dirk Cussler, a few books back. A sad day indeed. Thank you for all the enjoyment your imagination has brought to me, Mr. Cussler. Rest in Peace.

Clive Cussler's new one... sort of
I know, this is off topic. But, hey... it's my blog and I'll stray if I wanna.
I've been a Cussler fan since I first read "Raise the Titanic" back in junior high. I have every novel of each series he has published. Lately (for the last 20 years or so) he has been working with co-authors including his son, Dirk. At 87 he's still churning them out. His latest is "The Oracle", a series built around Sam & Remi Fargo. I wasn't really a fan of this series until he switched writing partners and now I have to say I enjoy the books more. I'm gonna take a break from "The Silent Death" and delve into the newest adventure by a true adventure master, Clive Cussler!
And as just a personal aside, I really miss real art on the covers. This Photoshop mishmash is hard for me to stomach. This is the stuff that caught my attention when I was cruising the bookstore aisles.
