"The Creeper"

"He's no gorilla, that fellow. If he had been, he'd have quit. This was his first try at murder. It's the new ones who are the toughest sometimes. They're after blood; they don't calculate. Too bad I had to shoot him; I wouldn't have had a chance, if I hadn't."

-Joe Cardona, Acting Inspector

The Creeper gets his moniker from his stealthy footsteps.  Huh?  I guess you'll just have to read how that works into this story.  Don't for a moment confuse this adventure with either of the radio versions that share the title.  This is an exciting mystery from 1935, a fine year indeed.  And, hey, it has a 'hands' cover with clews written right on it.  What more can a Shadowphile wish for?!
