Not a "bad" cover, just nothing special.  I'm willing to bet that the original illustration is better than the printed piece and definitely better than this poor image I was able to dredge up on the internet.  According to this review the story falls into the same category... not bad but nothing special.  Just a solid pulp tale.  Hey, I'll take a solid Shadow story over most other stories any day.
