Alex Ross

I loved the covers of Alex Ross for Dynamite's run of "The Shadow".  I wish I could say I loved the stories contained beneath those beautiful illustrations.  I'll probably re-read the series but nothing really stands out from this particular iteration of our hero.  Still, there were some really nice covers done, not just the ones by Ross.

    I'm even willing to overlook the ring outside the glove it is so good! What design elements do you think are Ross trademarks (OTHER THAN photo realism) ?

    I think that Ross' strong compositions and willingness to push the figure into interesting poses helps push him above many of his contemporaries. Plus, he handles his medium so well that you don't get lost in the technique, it just makes for a great image.
