"Gas!"

Does anyone know what this refers to?

I need to know what this "apparatus" is.  It appears that this ad came in the back of The Shadow Comics (hence the caveat about the cover of the magazine and not the comic).  An interesting way to drum up business.  A mystery, for sure.  Hmmm, perhaps The Shadow knows...

The Shadow #18 by Jason

Solid comic cover making use of the panel layout that defines comic books.  I do miss the billowing cloak with the crimson lining versus the overcoat and excessively long scarf.

"We're making you pretty."

Remark

A little quick sketch I put on a package for a friend.  I hope UPS doesn't mess it up too badly.

The Shadow #17 by Jason S A

Nice design, just not my idea of The Shadow.  Well executed, regardless.
