...at least on this blog. Thanks to Agent RP for giving me the idea. So, without further ado here is my version of "What's the Difference?"
Find 6 differences between the two covers. Have fun.

Atoms of Death
For me this would've worked better with a red background and yellow masthead. It's okay but not very interesting.

Shiwan Khan Returns
Complete and wonderful cover. Love the spotlight and the fully realized background not to mention beautifully rendered. Hate to say this but I have never read this story arc, but that falls into my OCD and need to read these in as close an order as possible. Still, I love this cover!

The Cup of Confucius
Yeah, I figgered that with the reprint showing up prominently this would be an easy one. I like the cover but agree with Agent T, the purple is a bit much. However, if it were grey or some other dull color associated with black then it wouldn't have "popped" on the stands. Plus the purple really contrasts superbly with The Shadow's awesome tan!

The Shadow #1
Just gonna put my two cents out there. I've been reading the "discussion" on FB re: Dynamite's handling of The Shadow. Bringing our hero "up-to-date" may be a concession we all have to face, but that doesn't mean abandoning who he is down in his core. He was never a maniacal killer who blew villains hands off laughing with glee. Leave that to The Spider and other kill crazy characters, there is a place and fan base for all of that. The whole treatment of sex in these series that this company puts out flies in the face of the characters Gibson created. Don't let me go down that path, it is just something unnecessary to this property. Yes, Wagner got it pretty much right but, in my mind, this greatest of pulp heroes has not been treated correctly since "The Shadow Strikes". What's missing? HE'S A FRIGGIN' GENIUS DETECTIVE, FER CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!!!!!
Yep, Dynamite just thinks he shows up to deal with things in a violent manner. Oh, sure, there's a bit of detection to move the story along but where is the clever twists (and I did say clever) or the great chess matches between equally genius villains? I'll give a bit of a pass that I may be not remembering some things here... but that's kinda the point. What do I remember? What is my lasting image of Dynamite's The Shadow? Violence!! Simply violence. I can't bring myself to reread any of the series (although I did read Wagner's and Uslan's stuff a couple of times) because it kind of depresses me.
I could go on and go deeper but it just ain't worth it. Thank you Anthony Tollin for giving the fans what they want and deserve, the real Dark Eagle.

Chain of Death
I guess the clews didn't provide enough of a chain of evidence to solve this cover. Awesome classic cover. I have absolutely nothing to add or subtract from this art. Love it.

Alibi Trail
Everybody was Kung-Fu fighting! Always disliked it when The Shadow looked like the Green Llama. Good one, AgentT. I didn't really pay any attention to the garter, instead I'll prefer to think of it as a strap for his ankle holster (and I don't believe they ever said he didn't have one) to hold a little back up, even if he doesn't really need it.

Fox Hound
I rather like this cover. A lot of story there with just two cropped figures. Are they survivors of a shipwreck? Did our hero dive into a swamp to pull the damsel to safety? Perhaps she is a gun moll and is about to whisper her dying confession to aid The Shadow in bringing her two timing gangster boyfriend to justice. I guess youse jus' gotta read it to find out. Well painted and I love the dark background, appropriate for The Dark Eagle. Yep, I wish this were in my collection.
