Alas, it was bound to happen.  I couldn't find an online source to link to.  I'm just happy that so many episodes are available from 82 years ago.  Instead I'll just give a synopsis from The Shadow Wiki page.

"A crime boss, with the help of a Hindu who possess "powers of thought," plans to kill The Shadow, by kidnapping Margot Lane and "commanding" her to shoot at the invisible avenger."

My fear...

I just hope that when these new stories come out they don't carry covers as uninspired as this.  Anyone who has stopped by this blog knows that the art is, for me, paramount.  Stay with the image that made The Shadow famous and don't rely on photos.  Some interior illustrations would be appreciated as well. 
I just don't have a good feeling about this.  Of course, we know nothing about the direction Conde Nast and Patterson are taking our hero and, hopefully, his agents.  I hope he stays rooted in the past as the lack of technology and mystique of far flung places and people create a canvas more interesting than another hero fighting familiar contemporary foes.

ON THE AIR July 24, 1938

With The Shadow's connection to the Bat-Man, which would premiere the next year in DC Comics, it would have been fun for this radio broadcast to have been, at least somewhat, aligned.  Alas, no one could have known... or could they?  As we all are aware, The Shadow knows.

ON THE AIR July 17, 1938

Another new (to me) recording.  Such a thrill that a nearly 90 year old character can still present me with something new to enjoy.  I'm sure it was a thrill to millions when it truly was new, 82 years ago.  Here, for your listening enjoyment is "The Reincarnation of Michael" starring Orson Welles and Margot Stevenson.

What I'm watching now

I'm a huge fan of the series, especially the first film.  I could see Keanu as The Shadow (with a haircut and no beard).  However, if they ever do make another film about The Shadow I fear that this is the direction they would take him.  Works for John Wick but The Shadow is not a maniacal killer slaughtering all in his way.  (No matter what Dynamite Comics would have us think!)  I enjoy this stylized world of John Wick and The Continental but The Shadow has his own world, one that has its own style and rich history to draw upon.  Boardwalk Empire and Peaky Blinders do a great job, especially Boardwalk Empire.
