PulpFest 2017
Here's hoping everyone is having a great time at PulpFest this year. I'll make it one of these years, I promise. Good luck with the talk, Agent K. Wish I could be there for it but someone has to keep the blue light lit...

Sigh
Have been soooooo disappointed in this series. I really hope it ends with some kind of brilliant resolution that brings The Shadow into some sort of perspective that we can recognize. Just a lot of violence and no detective work. Come on, two of the greatest detectives of popular fiction and all we can focus on is how maniacal The Shadow is and how Batman can't see past punching things? And don't get me started on this artistic version of The Dark Eagle...

Death's Bright Finger
One thin dime for this really cool cover. Whatta deal! I love the pulpy goodness of this art, the "villain" just disintegrating another possible bad guy just by pointing a finger at the man! Who wouldn't want to grab this one off of the stands and read all about this Tinsley penned adventure.

Buried Evidence
The Shadow does a drive by! Gangsta all da way.
As I haven't read this (but Agent T recommends it) I can't say whether or not The Dark Eagle is just returning fire after being assaulted or if he started it. Judging by the shattered window and bullet holes I'm going with the former. A nice cover that really catches your attention. I look forward to reading this one when it's time comes.

The Triple Trail
I really hope our hero ain't givin' his agents the finger on this cover! As always, any cover with hands and the fabulous fire opal on it, I'm on board. Well rendered and composed. I really appreciated the cast shadow on the document and across the hands. One gripe though, and this encompasses all of the cover art with The Shadow featured... I always thought that his skin tone would be less tanned and a lot more pale. Just a little thing, I know.

The Strange Disappearance of Joe Cardona
Wonderful cover. Would love to have seen the muzzle flash go right through the center of the "O", but that's just me. Nice use of the purple color and a great rendering of The Shadow himself. Funny that the story revolves around our hero saving Inspector Cardona (hence the longest title in the run of the pulps) yet there is a damsel on the cover. I'd write it off as sex sells but that dress screams school marm! Haven't read this one but I look forward to it.

The Four Signets
What a gorgeous cover. I love the various colored hands and the composition of this cover. Of course, there is the ring on The Shadow's left hand making sure everyone knows that our hero will prevail in yet another adventure of the greatest pulp character in history. Okay, I'll get off of my fan-boy soapbox. Still, a terrific cover.

Friday clew
One of my favorite covers. No problem for Agent T, I'm sure. As to yesterdays little brain fart, I have no idea why I attributed "The Murder Genius" to Bruce Elliott. I was staring at Tinsley's name and the whole Benedict Stark story arc. Sheesh. That's what happens when you are trying to blog and get some work done at the same time. It's been corrected. Thanks for pointing that out, Bill.

Murder Genius
Agent T, you read my mind. Double-breasted suit? Tie? It's not even tactical or coordinated with his cloak! Yep, this is not how I envision The Shadow. I suppose it's exciting enough with the lightning bolts zipping around (and through!) our hero. Just not for me. Theodore Tinsley wrote this one but I haven't read it. The second of the four story arc of Benedict Stark.
