Here's hoping all agents had a festive Thanksgiving holiday. Take care out there on this Black Friday.

Zemba
Read this when it was reprinted in the glorious 70's. It was a pretty good tale as I recall and I know that it is high on many Shadowphile's "best of" list. I would have gone nuts had I seen this cover on the stands and probably hole up in a comfortable chair and just enjoy the heck out of finding out who the man with the missing finger is. A review of "Paris Affair" can be found here.

The Crime Oracle
One of the classics, both in terms of cover art and story. Like a lot of fans, I read this in the Dover edition along with "The Teeth of the Dragon". The seventies were a great time for Shadow fans.
"Margo's Story" page 1
Another look at where Margo came from. If you are reading Dynamite's version of "The Shadow" in "Dark Nights" you may have noticed a very different take on Margo.

The Golden Doom
A well executed cover but, as Agent T states, one for Ellery Queen... not The Shadow! I haven't read the tale but it is by Tinsley so it should... but wait! According to this review it is not one to be placed on your must read list. Apparently all around this just ain't one of the high points for our hero. Alas, it happens.
"Citadels" page 25
Tomorrow we take a breather from Shiwan and learn a bit more of the (who knew) mysterious Miss Lane.

Murder Mansion
An action packed cover with a few problems. As Agent T points out, brown gloves, purple cloak (although I suspect printing had something to do with this) causes some consternation. The main baddie's left arm seems very wrong and I'm not sure where the bottle is coming from. So so as is the story according to this review.
Here is the original art (at least I believe it's original...)

Master of Death
Simple and striking. Not the greatest rendering but it pretty much sucks you in and then the story does the rest. I enjoyed this story thanks to the reprints (#28, in case you're wondering) and this is pretty much how I imagined the villain. If you don't have the story but want to know more, check out this review.

Death Token
Submitted as "The Head of Apollo" this entry into the annals as recorded by Maxwell Grant sports an average cover. Nothing outstanding but still serviceable. I wish the background made for a more mysterious mood but the editors must have thought green (and the oft used yellow) stood out and sold more magazines. I'm sure that long lasting artistic merit wasn't high on their must have list.
