Hands.  The Shadow's hands!  What more do I want in a cover!  Oh, yeah, clews.  Right on the cover!  Yes.  I would love to own this pulp someday.  The title will always bring the radio programme to mind first (there were two episodes carrying that title.  My favorite is the one with Orson in the role of The Shadow) and since I haven't read this tale, I guess that's how it'll stand.

The Death Triangle

I love the rendering of The Shadow, however it's quite an obvious and lazy cover.  Again with the yellow!  Why?!
Alas, I haven't read this tale but look forward to it.  Hey, it's an early 30's story, it has to be great!

The Crimson Death

I like this cover well enough but I agree with Agent T that Gladney should not have used himself as the model for our hero.  That and the hat is not "Shadowy" enough for my tastes.  I do like the absence of the red lining and no white cuffs in this plus that is a really cool skeleton pouring out the "crimson death".
I have no idea about this story so I naturally head over to "The Shadow in Review" site to see what the knowledgeable Mr. Olson has to say about this tale.  By the way, thankfully the editors changed the title from "The Falling Sickness".  Wow, that would've been a very different cover (cue Dick Van Dyke).

Finally!

On my recent trip to Minnesota my wife and I stopped for lunch in a small town.  Looking across the street we saw some "antique" stores, getting my wife pretty worked up.  She's always on the lookout for something to add to her collection.  As the dutiful husband I followed her to the first shop and headed for the used books section.  Nuthin'!  She found nothing either and thought we should just get back in the car and finish our trip.  I saw a "vintage"store right next door and made her go in.  While she looked around I headed to the back of the shop and found, all the way in a shadowy corner, the hat I've been looking for for a very long time.  It's, to my eye, perfect.  I plan to have it cleaned and shaped a bit but it looks pretty spot on as is.  Trim the hat band a bit and I think I'll have it re-lined (in red satin) and then I'll be ready to slink down the alleys of my city.  Well, probably not, but I'll finally have a prized addition to my Shadow collection.

Washington Crime

Pretty nice cover.  A bit staged but well rendered.  I suppose we are not bowled over by much these days as we are inundated with 3D effects and truly in your face images.  In the day this probably stood out as such an action packed look at The Shadow bursting through the cover.
I haven't read this one (like about 75% of his tales) but this review makes me want to read it.  I hope everyone will read this as well.

Classic cover (although the cloak ain't long enough) for a classic story.  I won't go into this at all since it must be read to be enjoyed.  Everything about this one is great.

Castle of Crime

An ok cover, well rendered but not too interesting.  Too bad, because I love the covers with clews in them.  That boring tan wall doesn't help this painting nor do the tangencies that are a bit distracting (the eyebrown touching the edge of the mirror, the pinky finger lining up with the edge of the mirror, etc...)  I haven't read this story but the review says it has a lot of potential.  It is up to you to decide if it lives up to that potential.
