Saturday's random pulp cover: Famous Fantastic Mysteries: "The White Wolf" August 1952
Slightly gruesome cover with a white wolf dismembering a skeleton. Not sure why the woman is out in the cemetery in the snow, however. Still, an engaging cover from the twilight of the pulps.

Happy Thanksgiving
Enjoy family and friends, the beautiful Autumn weather and the feast set before you. But take a moment to remember why this holiday exists. Remember why the pilgrims left the only home they knew and struck out for a new world with the promise of freedom.

Update to Gangland's Doom
It appears that Kickstarter allows more backers to join in even after the projects end date. We gained two more backers and $236, bringing our total over $12K at $12,196. I'm sure every dime will be reflected in the book. I'll post my interior illustrations as they get completed. For anyone interested, this cover art is only available on the hard cover editions.
Saturday's random pulp cover: Adventure Magazine: "A Thrilling Novelette of The Man-Apes" June 1930
Adventure certainly had some of the most wonderful covers of the pulp era. Simple, to the point. This painting pretty much tells you what you're getting for your two bits.

Kickstarter is over... Gangland's Doom is fully funded
(This is only a conceptual mock up. I have no idea what the cover will end up looking like.)
With 174 backers pledging $11,963, the 50th Anniversary edition of "Gangland's Doom" is fully funded and can accomplish all of its aims. Thank you to everyone who contributed and we look forward to putting out a very special book.

Saturday's random pulp cover: New Detective Magazine: "Die a Little Longer" July 1950
Let's keep the Norman Saunders love-fest keep rollin' along. This is a little later than I wanted to use, 1950 being a bit past the golden era of pulps, but just look at this cover! BAM, in your face pulp action!

Gangland's Doom cover art... a work in progress
Still a ways to go. Just experimenting with texture on the lettering and the ring needs a big of work (quite a bit). However, I just wanted to share where this is at. If you haven't checked out the Kickstarter yet, there are 5 days left.
Saturday's random pulp cover: All Detective Magazine: "Committee of One" October 1933
A tale by Erle Stanley Gardner headlines this issue of All Detective Magazine. However, take a look at who else was featured, our very own Theodore A. Tinsley. Tinsley wrote 27 tales to complement Gibson's 282 novels, putting his own spin on our hero. The cover of today's pulp is by none other than Norman Saunders who also painted the cover that was featured last week. The hidden skull motif, once again.
