The Fifth Napoleon
Let's see if the eagle eye of Agent J is as good as Hawkeye's...
"Agent J reports: 1931, extra bullet hole in hat brim, gun barrel length, Nopaleon, the Shadow's cloak near his right ear?"
Not the cloak but the hat brim. Still, I'll give it to ya. Thanks for playing. I'll try and make the next one harder.

Let's have another Hamilton gem
Another week shot down. Only The Shadow knows what next week holds. Til then, keep that blue light burning.

Super Pulp fan artist...
Frank Hamilton. Will always be grateful that Mr. Hamilton's illustrations kept the torch lit for so many of us in the pre-internet days.

The Shadow gets in dutch
Always love it when The Shadow shows up internationally. Since de Schim is Dutch, I'm guessing this is from the Netherlands (or Aruba, Suriname, Northern Belgium or Caribbean). Sure, we've all seen this cover art (and done better) but it's a great thing to see our hero exacting justice wherever crime happens.

The Gray Ghost... revealed
"Agent J reports: 1963, 30, lower bullet coming through Gray Ghost, the Gray Ghost's hood is larger - that's all I can find. Side note - the Shadow doesn't have a ring on his hand!"
Again, so close. The gun barrel is a bit longer. I have to say I was hoping someone would also be outraged...OUTRAGED!!!... at the lack of a ring.

Grabbed this off of The Shadow Strikes FB page
I'm always a fan of seeing The Shadow under the blue light. Made me wonder if I should start reposting the comics again for anyone who missed it the first time around, a few years back.

"Agent J reports: green shadow on face and hands, brown smoke, machine
gun barrel length, 3 buttons - that's all I can find!"
Close, but just missing the knob on the scale.

This weekend's "What's the Difference" puzzle
Five (5) changes to this classic cover. This also happens to be one of my all time favorite covers. Good luck and have a great weekend.

The Shadow and Batman by Toth
This was cropped from a postcard back in 2003. So very cool and just another tease of what could have been if Toth had ever done a treatment of The Shadow.

Hidden Death
I hate the logo. I love the composition. I hate seeing The Shadow's full face. I love the technique. And where the hell is the ring!!! Ultimately this feels more like a cover for The Spider than the true Master!
What say you? Yea or nay on this cover art.

Answers to The Pooltex Tangle cover differences
"Agent J reports: bee hive, hole next to Detective Stories, The Shadow's ring, piece of metal in bottom left. That's all I can find!"
So close, but The Shadow seems to prefer wider lapels. Hope you had fun.

Another "Who did it better" entry
I usually default to the classic covers from the pulps but I have to say I really like Steranko's take on this one. Still, I can't go against a classic "hand" cover. What say you?
