The Man From Scotland Yard
I really love this cover and the story was great fun as well. The Shadow isn't in the path of a bullet, rather he and the antagonist are both in the process of drawing a bead on each other. Of course, the bad guy has a couple of goons to help. This just seems to be a true moment from the story and one we can easily imagine The Shadow being a part of. Well rendered and composed. Yeah, this is one I would love to have in my collection.

Up for auction
I find it interesting that the image has been flipped so that the ring is now on the left hand. Truly wish I could afford this piece, but, alas, I'm not Lamont Cranston wealthy. This is currently being sold through Heritage Auctions of Dallas.
You got it, Agent T
The Seven Drops of Blood it is. I understand why you don't like the cover as much as you might simply because of the lack of The Shadow but I like it because of, well, the RING!!!!! That makes it much more appealing than other Shadow-less covers. I haven't read this one, either. I must, therefore, rely on The Shadow in Review with this review.
I'll be back on Monday.

Michael Golden does The Shadow
Golden has long been one of my favorite comic artists and seeing a drawing of The Shadow is a wonderful surprise. I think I may ink this one day and see what a collaboration would be like.

The Plot Master
Love this cover. Who is the true master of disguise? Well, we know and soon so shall The Plot Master! I'm in the middle of reading this adventure and therefore won't be reading this review. But you can if you haven't had the pleasure of reading this one. And if you haven't I recommend that you read The Red Menace first as there is a true connection to this 1935 tale.

The Shadow Year One #10
And that ends the first year of the re-imagined career of The Shadow. I enjoyed the series even though I don't agree with bringing Margo into The Shadow's life so soon. I will always subscribe to W. B. Gibson's original run and keep Margo as a late addition, one shoe horned in because of the popularity of the radio drama.

The Killer
I like this cover well enough. No action but sometimes that ain't a bad thing. The title? Dull and unimaginative. Gibson submitted this one with the title "Appointment with Death". Much better but still pretty pedestrian. But it's the pulps, right? If you haven't read this one by all means check out the review found here. I can't recommend this site enough for anyone not already familiar with it.

The Murder Genius
Agent T... you are absolutely right. A tie? Brown at that! A shawl for a cloak? A fitted double breasted suit? Very impractical. As to Tinsley, I've never read his work. Since I am going through the series in as close an order as I can I haven't gotten to his stuff yet. If any of you out there haven't read the Benedict Stark novels, then check out this review.

The Shadow Year One #6
Want to like this. Just don't. Seems very un-Shadowlike. At least it's well done. Ross is very consistent.

The Green Hoods
Hmmm... seems to have the elements but I am not a big fan of this cover. The damsel in distress isn't done very well and the left hand with the wimpy little revolver just doesn't work for me. I haven't read this one but this review says it's a great pulp tale, guaranteed to thrill the reader to the end. Who am I to say that judging the book by the cover is the the way to go.

End of the week clew
Out of the office for the last few days so I was unable to post. Back to normal now, though. Give this a shot.

The Shadow Year One #4
For obvious reasons I like this cover. Lots of texture to emphasize the smooth nature of Margo's skin.
