The Scent of Death

Submitted as "Golden Death" the highlight of this tale, at least according to this review, is this cover.  I have always loved this cover, very well painted and provocative.  Almost Rockwellian if Norman had stepped into the pulp cover arena.  I haven't read it so I can't tell you any more than this.

Treasures of Death

I love these hand covers, as many longtime followers know.  Clews to the story inside make it even better.  This review states that it is a great early novel and as such it will make for a fun read.  I know I look forward to it.

Merry Christmas

Breaking into homes in the dark of night is surely something Santa Cl... er, The Shadow knows.  Ho Ho Ho

Hoping all is well with all of the Master's agents.  Enjoy your time with family and friends.

Face of Doom

What a cool cover and, according to this review, a cool tale.  Viewing this cover from the perspective of a Batman fan of the late 60's to the present, the comparison to Two Face is inevitable.  It seems the story doesn't bear out the comparison, just the cover art.  Anyhow, this seems to be a must read for any and all agents of The Shadow.

A bit o' a clew

A clew to bring us nearer the end of the week.

The Chinese Primrose

Not a bad cover, very action packed.  Damsel in dire distress at the mercy of a member of the yellow hoard.  And out of the purple shadows comes salvation in the form of an all too human Shadow.  Well painted, poorly printed yet quite serviceable.  I haven't read the story but this review seems to make the case that the cover is reflective of the novel inside.

Death From Nowhere

According to this review "Death from Nowhere" is a very good tale.  According to this cover it's pretty boring.  Never been a fan of this illustration although it's rendered competently it's just not composed very interestingly.  Just about all I have to say 'bout that.

Clewsday Tuesday

Well, the red ain't much of a clew but this still shouldn't be too difficult.

The Crime Crypt

How cool is this cover?!  I would have been all over this one as soon as it hit the stands.  According to this review it is as good as its cover.  I love the face and the green cast to the hand popping the girasol right off the page.  I definitely want to own this pulp.

A day late

Missed yesterday, technical problems.  Give this one a try, it's one of my favorites.

Double Z

Awesome cover from the early days of the run.  Maybe not a classic but a really cool hint of The Shadow.  Rozen sure knew how to paint our hero's eyes, very distinctive.  The story is a good one as well, how could it not be as it's from '32.  I would have been thrilled to see this cover on the stands and probably couldn't have waited to get home and find out what The Shadow was up to this time.

December's first clew

Give this one a double take if need be.
