Happy Halloween, agents

Take some time to lurk in the shadows and make sure all of the kids are safe tonight.

The Getaway Ring

The Shadow should be in the shadows and not so human.  The slouch hat should be, well, slouchy.  The cover should be better.  It's rendered well, just not much for storytelling or excitement.  Can't speak to the story so check out the review here.

Hey, hey, hey... it's a new clew

Simple is as simple does.  Should be no problem for ace agent Bill.

Loot of Death

Dull cover that seems not very inspired.  Although at this point in the run of The Shadow Magazine with two cover painting due each month I'm sure idea's weren't always given the time to gel perfectly.  I haven't read this particular tale, submitted as "Trail of Wealth", and this review doesn't give me any cause to hurry up and get to it.

Quetzal

Another of my preferred "hands" covers.  I haven't read this one but this review says it should not be missed.  I aim to find out.

Clew (a bit late)

Missed Monday (odd day, to say the least).  Give this a shot, agents.

Death Clew

Great cover.  The Shadow is watching you.  This is what the criminal element must have been envisioned was behind every window or door.  The ever watchful eye(s) of their worst enemy.  Yeah, I love this cover.  And I really enjoyed this story.  Yup, I read it.  It has a lot of cool things in it.  The sanctum (multiple times), that cool clock and the magic elixir that revives those approaching death.  Check it out.

Mistakes

It's been pointed out that I have incorrectly posted some pages.  I could say that I purposely planted the pages to see how eagle eyed the agents are but the truth is I screwed up.  I will be correcting the mistakes soon and will post links to the fixed pages.

"Citadels"

And so begins the end.  Poor Claude Fellows, it appears The Shadow is vowing revenge.  Tune in to find out.

City of Crime

Classic cover.  Still not sold on him swinging like Batman from the rope but I love the monochromatic background.  Kinda wish they'd gone with the title submitted by Walter B Gibson, "Killer's Vengeance".  Alas, we get a generic title.  Haven't read this tale but this review says it's worth the time.  Why wouldn't it be?  Gibson wrote it.  It's 1936.  And our hero is bringing his own brand of justice to Westford!

Cards of Death

I love this cover.  It brings the whole weekly broadcast from a hidden location storyline front and center.  It features the ring and some cool cards, to boot.  Lots to like about this pulp cover and, according to this review, the cover may be the best thing about the formerly titled "Cards of Doom".

A Belated Clew

Got a bit lazy and haven't been good with the clews.  Agent T, does this clew "ring" a bell?

Brothers of Doom

I like this cover.  And, according to this review, this scene actually appears in the tale.  Just makes me want to read it all the more.
